–Taylor Swift, who this week spends her 11th week at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 all-genre sales album chart, guest stars tomorrow night on one of her all-time favorite TV shows, the top-rated CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. CSI airs tomorrow night, Thursday, March 5th, nationwide on the CBS network at 9 p.m. ET/PT. This week’s episode, titled “Turn, Turn, Turn,” features Taylor as Haley Jones, a teenage girl whose family runs a seedy Vegas motel. Over the course of a year, Haley goes through a series of changes that have tragic consequences. Entertainment Tonight will feature an interview with Taylor about her CSI experience tomorrow, March 5th.In other Taylor news, it was announced this week that Verizon has partnered with Taylor for a national high school contest running through March 23rd. High school students from around the United States can text ‘TS’ to ‘3401’ on their Verizon Wireless phones or enter via www.taylorswiftconcerts.com . At the culmination of the contest on March 23rd, the school with the most entries will win the opportunity to host a free concert from Taylor at their high school. Verizon is providing PDF posters for students to post on their campuses as well as a rolling score board showing the schools with the most responses to date here .
Taylor kicks off her first-ever headlining tour, the TAYLOR SWIFT FEARLESS 2009 TOUR, on April 23rd in Evansville, Indiana. The tour runs through October, and all shows that have been put on sale have sold out within minutes. Taylor is featured on the covers of the current issues of Rolling Stone, Self, Teen Vogue, and Your Prom magazines.
The contest is being supported with an extensive promotional campaign including national spots and on demand programming on Verizon’s FIOS-TV, online banner ads, digital billboards in select malls, Jumbotron spots at select sporting events, and radio spots in key markets.
Taylor is currently on tour in Australia, where her Fearless album was recently certified Gold. Fearless is Triple-Platinum in the US.
