Skinner Is The Winner

Posted on 18 September 2009 by admin

Kentucky chicken catcher Kevin Skinner can quit his day job. He walked away with $1 million and a headlining Las Vegas show as the winner of NBC’s summer reality show America’s Got Talent Wednesday (9/16). Skinner premiered on the show with his rendition of Garth Brooks “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” but clinched the championship this week with a weaker “Don’t Want To Miss a Thing.”

With some training and a bit of Autotune in the studio Skinner could havea big radio hit if he gets something traditional to radio now.

Kanye West bullies Teen Superstar Swift

Kanye West bullies Teen Superstar Swift

Taylor Swift won Female Video of the Year at the MTV VMA’s and check out how Kanye West’s inflated ego makes him the most idiotic man in music.

Check out the video of her acceptance speech cut short by West.  West is no stanger to inappropriate outbursts on live tv.   Could this be his last invitation?

Later singer Pink gave West an earfull in the audience  before he made

his getaway.          CSO is hoping he getsa taste of his own medicing on tv tonight as Kanye is scheduled to perform on the debut of the Jay Leno Show.

How does this guy get away with this?

Then she followed up the slam with a killer performance and Beyonce let her haver her say.

West had an apology posted HERE but at last check it as removed.

Swift will have a home in Country long after pop turns its back on her.

Kanye is a bully!

Are You Smarter Than Bucky?

Posted on 17 August 2009 by admin

NASHVILLE, TN – Lyric Street Recording Artist Bucky Covington is in Los Angeles today to tape an episode of FOX TV’s “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader” for charity.  Bucky will be taking the challenge for The Arthritis Foundation, a non-profit which supports more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions and helps people take control of arthritis by providing public health education; pursuing public policy and legislation; and conducting evidence-based programs to improve the quality of life for those living with arthritis.

“I’ve been brushing up on my grade school skills to at least outsmart all of the 4th graders … just in case it turns out I’m NOT smarter than a 5th grader,” said Bucky.  “But, if I bring Jeff Foxworthy an apple maybe I’ll get a few extra points,” he laughed.

Recently, Bucky Covington delivered to radio his brand new single “I Want My Life Back.”  Currently climbing the country charts, this song is the lead single from his much anticipated sophomore album to be released this fall.

Bucky Covington’s self-titled debut CD opened at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in April 2007 with the biggest first week sales for any debut country artist that year. He’s the best selling debut artist of the 2007 class and is one of only three male country artists since 2005 to have three consecutive top 10 singles from his debut album.  In addition to competing on the fifth season of “American Idol,” Bucky’s national television appearances have included Live with Regis and Kelly, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America and Fox & Friends.

BIG KENNY JUDD AND BIG MACHINE JUDGE DUETS

Posted on 28 May 2009 by admin

NASHVILLE – May 28, 2009 – Music superstar Big Kenny¸ of the multi-platinum duo Big & Rich, and Big Machine Records’ President and CEO Scott Borchetta will join Naomi Judd as judges on the second season of CMT’s, CAN YOU DUET.  Hosted by Lance Smith, the weekly music competition series from “American Idol” producers FremantleMedia North America is looking to find country music’s next great duo and award them a record deal with Big Machine Records.

Best known as one half of country megastars Big & Rich, Big Kenny was a solo artist before joining John Rich to create Big & Rich in 2003 and together they signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records. From their first studio album, came the duo’s signature song “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy),” as well as three other top 40 singles. In 2005, the duo released “Comin’ To Your City” and added another top-20 single and two other top-40 songs to their roster. The duo’s third studio album, “Between Hell and Amazing Grace,” produced their first Number One single, the wedding ballad “Lost in This Moment.” Big Kenny recently took time away from music to document his visit to Sudan, which debuted at the Nashville Film Festival last year.

Scott Borchetta recently accepted the 2009 Academy of Country Music Award for executive producing “Fearless,” the ACM Album of the Year from Taylor Swift.  For years, Borchetta has been the driving force behind the some of music’s most successful careers.  He is currently known for his position as the founder and CEO of Big Machine Records, which he opened in 2005.   In three short years the label has accomplished unprecedented success.  Under Borchetta’s leadership, Big Machine Records has become the #1 selling country music label, with artist Taylor Swift ending 2008 as the highest selling artist across all genres.

Prior to starting Big Machine Records, Borchetta was Senior Vice President of Promotion & Artist Development for all three of Universal Music Group’s country imprints: DreamWorks, MCA Nashville and Mercury Nashville. During his tenure at UMG, Borchetta was instrumental in the careers of George Strait, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood, Wynonna, Toby Keith, Darryl Worley, Jimmy Wayne, Jessica Andrews and Randy Travis.

In addition to Swift, Big Machine Records’ current artist roster includes Trisha Yearwood, Jack Ingram, Sunny Sweeney, Adam Gregory and season one CAN YOU DUET finalists Kate & Kacey. In 2007, Big Machine Records became the exclusive radio promoter for Garth Brooks’ new music and the two made history with his new single “More Than a Memory,” when Brooks became the first artist in history to debut at #1 on the Billboard Country Singles Chart, making him the highest Country debut leader of all time.

Unlike other talent competition shows, each contestant on CAN YOU DUET will compete as part of a duo, sometimes working with different partners as the competition progresses.  As a result, viewers will witness first-hand all the on and off-stage drama to be had in creating a dynamic musical duo.  In addition critiquing each performance, the three judges will decide who will advance to the next round, be sent home, and ultimately be crowned country music’s next great duo.

CAN YOU DUET is produced by FremantleMedia North America.  Jeff Boggs (Nashville Star, Spy TV) and Borchetta are executive producers.  Bob Kusbit, John Hamlin and Melanie Moreau serve as executive producers for CMT.

Kenny Chesney Plays Austin City Limits

Posted on 28 April 2009 by admin

Chesney's Second Greatest Hits CD Drops May 19th

Chesney's Second Greatest Hits CD Drops May 19th

Austin – When it comes to roots, rock and country music, very few establishments set the bar as high as PBS’ “Austin City Limits,” now in its 35th season. The acclaimed show which has – among the many legendary artists — hosted Van Morrison, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, Ray Price, Neil Young, Ray Charles,  Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, My Morning Jacket, Tammy Wynette, the Allman Brothers, Allison Krauss and John Mayer will have a special one hour Kenny Chesney performance, taping May 12.
“There is so much history when you look back at the artists who’ve played ‘Austin City Limits’ over the years,” says the man who has sold over a million concert tickets each of the past 7 summers – and stands as the biggest ticket seller of the 21st century. “If you wanna know about American music, about Texas music, about music that comes out of the South – whether it’s the Allman Brothers and Widespread Panic – or songwriters like Jackson Browne and John Prine, Western swing like Asleep at the Wheel or classic country like Merle Haggard, George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette… that’s the place you go.
“And with everything I’ve been able to do in my career, it’s still an incredible honor to be asked to do ‘Austin City Limits.’ That’s a whole other kind of music show…”
For Chesney, who closed out last week’s Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California with a rave review on EW.com – Entertainment Weekly’s online presence — that offered, “This is feel-good music, performed in a no-muss, no-fuss style by a 12 piece band that never overshadows Chesney’s straightforward, muscular style…,” this is an opportunity to offer a more intimate picture of who he is and where his music comes from.
“When you go in there – and you think about all the people who’ve come before you – you really want to stand and play and sing and let the songs have their moment,” Chesney says of his “ACL” game plan. “This is about getting to the basics of what I learned when I first came to town: a good song sung from an honest place. Let people sense who you are, and do it with the best songs possible.”
For Chesney, who releases Greatest Hits Two on May 19, there are plenty of songs to choose from. Since releasing “Young” at the end of 2001, he has scored multiple week #1s including “There Goes My Life,” “Summertime,” “Beer In Mexico” and “The Good Stuff,” as well as chart-topping duets “When The Sun Goes Down” with Uncle Kracker and “Down The Road” with songwriter/singer Mac McAnally.
“I can’t think of a better place to revisit the songs of the past 8 years,” Chesney says. “’Austin City Limits” is all about the music… and these songs – for me – have certainly withstood the test of time. What a great place to play them and get to consider what they’ve meant to me and a lot of other people.”
