NASHVILLE, TN – Lyric Street Recording Artist Bucky Covington is in Los Angeles today to tape an episode of FOX TV’s “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader” for charity. Bucky will be taking the challenge for The Arthritis Foundation, a non-profit which supports more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions and helps people take control of arthritis by providing public health education; pursuing public policy and legislation; and conducting evidence-based programs to improve the quality of life for those living with arthritis.
“I’ve been brushing up on my grade school skills to at least outsmart all of the 4th graders … just in case it turns out I’m NOT smarter than a 5th grader,” said Bucky. “But, if I bring Jeff Foxworthy an apple maybe I’ll get a few extra points,” he laughed.
Recently, Bucky Covington delivered to radio his brand new single “I Want My Life Back.” Currently climbing the country charts, this song is the lead single from his much anticipated sophomore album to be released this fall.
Bucky Covington’s self-titled debut CD opened at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in April 2007 with the biggest first week sales for any debut country artist that year. He’s the best selling debut artist of the 2007 class and is one of only three male country artists since 2005 to have three consecutive top 10 singles from his debut album. In addition to competing on the fifth season of “American Idol,” Bucky’s national television appearances have included Live with Regis and Kelly, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America and Fox & Friends.
