Bentley is currently in Nashville working on material for his next album. Fans can expect the first single this spring and will be able to get glimpses of the recording process along the way through dierks.com. The new album will follow in the footsteps of Bentley’s artistically daring and critically acclaimed

UP ON THE RIDGE, which recently received three GRAMMY nominations. The Phoenix-native has won countless awards, headlined arena tours, sold over five million albums, and celebrated seven No. one hits (“What Was I Thinkin,” “Come A Little Closer,” “Settle For A Slowdown,” “Every Mile A Memory,” “Free and Easy (Down The Road I Go),” “Feel That Fire,” “Sideways”) since being signed to Capitol Records Nashville.

Columbia Nashville recording artist Josh Thompson stormed onto the country music scene with his debut album WAY OUT HERE – debuting in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart and earning praise from countless critics, including NPR’s Fresh Air, Billboard and People. Thompson wrote or co-wrote all 10 tracks on the album including his current single, “Won’t Be Lonely Long,” which follows previous hits “Way Out Here” and “Beer On The Table.” The blue-collar road warrior played over 240 shows last year ranging from headlining club dates to sold-out arenas with Brad Paisley.

A&M/Octone’s first country release is the vibrant new female duo Miss Willie Brown, comprised of Amanda Watkins from West Virginia and Texas native Kasey Buckley. The two girls met in California waiting tables, instantly bonded over a deep love of country music and have been writing and singing together ever since. Now living in Nashville, the duo is recording their debut album with award winning producer Keith Stegall (Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson) and will release the lead single in the coming months. Miss Willie Brown has been busy honing their live performance chops opening shows for artists including Dwight Yoakam and Billy Currington. They are also the only unsigned band to ever perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Alan Jackson Leaves Label

Posted on 20 January 2011 by editor

Arista Record's Alan Jackson

It’s official.  Alan Jackson – a staple of country music – and his longtime label Sony/Arista Records have parted ways.  The move is not a huge suprise as Alan himself had acknowledged the previous contract had ended.

According to the label’s official statement, “Sony Music Nashville wishes to thank Alan Jackson for their long association and the many hit records achieved as a result of that association. In an amicable parting, Sony confirms that Alan has delivered his final recordings to the company and wishes him well.”

The next question is – after 50 million records sold – will Alan segue to a new home elsewhere or just write off into the sunset.   Many think he’s headed to Zac Brown’s label after the success of As She’s Walking Away.

Jason Aldean / Wikipedia

Just eleven weeks after its release, Billboard’s 2010 Top Male Country Artist Jason Aldean is celebrating PLATINUM certification for sales of one million copies for his fourth studio album MY KINDA PARTY. The 15 track disc becomes Aldean’s third career PLATINUM album and brings the country rocker to five million total albums sold since his debut five years ago.

“I just can’t say enough about country music fans and the amount of loyalty they have for their favorite artists,” said Aldean. “To think that a million people already bought this record is hard for me to get my head around. And five million since I started? No way! I am so grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to play music every night.”

MY KINDA PARTY opened big in Nov. with an impressive first week moving over 193,000 units and earning the biggest first week debut by a male vocalist in over three years. The album’s lead and title track recently earned GOLD certification for digital downloads and took the No. one spot on Mediabase’s country chart. Aldean’s powerful duet with Kelly Clarkson “Don’t You Wanna Stay” follows closely behind, jumping into the Top 15 this week. Both singles also remain in the Top 10 on iTunes’ Country Songs Chart.

Aldean will kick off the sold out first weekend of arena dates on his MY KINDA PARTY TOUR this Friday in Little Rock, AR. The 30 city run through May features special guests Eric Church and the Jane Dear Girls.

About Garth Brooks
Certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) as the #1-selling solo artist in U.S. history, Garth Brooks has sold in excess of 128 million albums. He has received every accolade the recording industry can bestow on an artist.

In the midst of one of the most successful careers in music history, Garth retired in 2001, delivered his last record for Capitol Records and moved back to Oklahoma to raise his children. While in retirement, when called upon by events greater than his own self-interest, he returned to the stage. The President himself requested that Garth headline President Obama’s Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial. He performed as Barack and Michelle Obama, their girls, Joe and Jill Biden and a crowd of over 300,000 lined the mall from the Lincoln Memorial all the way to the Washington Monument. It was a moment in history when all did the “wave” to Garth’s performance of “Shout” while the President sang along. When the governor of California asked for Garth’s help, he responded by performing five concerts in two days, where proceeds from 83,000 tickets sold were donated to efforts to prevent fire catastrophes. Portions of the live concerts were shown as a TV special, “Garth Brooks: Live in L.A.” where viewers donated to the organization Fire. He recently finished an astonishing 9 concerts to raise money for the flood relief efforts in Tennessee. ABC World News Tonight declared Garth The Person of the Week and the Mayor of Nashville came on stage during his last performance to announce that this was a record December for downtown Nashville merchants due to the over 145,000 who attended the concerts.

JaneDear Girls Gone Wildflower

Posted on 06 January 2011 by Bill West

Sometimes a group comes along possessing equal parts of rock star charm and electrifying sound.

Such is the case for Warner Bros. Records’ duo the JaneDear girls(Susie Brown and Danelle Leverett), who have started quite a buzz with their dynamic sound and iconic fashion – owning the title as Country music’s highest charting debut artist of 2010.

Their Producer – from another duo the legendary Big and Rich — John Rich say they have what it takes:
“They are,” he says, “the girls next door that kick country A**,,,”
On February 1st, the JaneDear girls will release their rockin’ self-titled debut album available everywhere, just in time for the kick-off of their first major tour: Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party” tour, which starts its run in Little Rock, AR on Jan. 21.

The ACM Top New Vocal Duo nominee is comprised of Utah native Susie Brown and Texas native Danelle Leverett. Their debut smash-Top 20 hit single, “Wildflower,” is the perfect introduction to the duo’s high energy, soaring harmonies and world-class instrumental skills. The girls play a total of eight instruments (Accordion, Acoustic guitar, Bass, Electric guitar, Fiddle, Gango, Harp and Mandolin) and, between the two of them, penned every song on their self-titled debut album, which boasts a fully loaded 11-track ensemble of pure Country rock. The up-tempo sing along song “Shotgun Girl” revels in the girls’ love for riding shotgun in a Country boy’s truck.

“We try to put a lot of ourselves, who we are and our personalities into our music,” said Susie. “We like to have fun with our songs and we wanted to give our fans something they can relate to as well.”

Also included in the JaneDear girls is a wide-range of dance ready hits and Country-style kiss-off songs like “Merry Go Round” and “Lucky You,” as well as favorable ballads like the sentimental lullaby of “Saturdays in September.”

“We like our guitars loud, our fiddles ripping and a steady beat,” said Danelle. “We want our music to make people want to get up and dance.”

the JaneDear girls Track Listing:
1. Wildflower
2. Shotgun Girl
3. Merry Go Round
4. Sugar
5. Saturdays in September
6. Sing Along
7. Lucky You
8. Pretender
9. Never Gonna Let You Go
10. Free Ride
11. Everyday’s A Holiday

Pickler Hitched

Posted on 05 January 2011 by Bill West

Kellie and Kyle

Country stars are getting married in 2011!   It’s been a while since we reported the engagement of former Amrican Idol star turned Country front woman Kellie Pickler… and now People Magazine / people.com reports that Kellie has officially tied the knot in the Carribean over the Holidays.  Looks like the Falling In Love Again star couldn’t be happier.

Here’s what People said with a link to the story below:

After a proposal on the beach last June, the “elated” country singer, 24, and Kyle Jacobs, 37, eloped, exchanging vows on Jan. 1, in a “small, intimate ceremony on a private island in the Caribbean,” her rep tells PEOPLE.

The couple, who have been dating since 2008, got engaged on June 15, 2010, when Jacobs popped the question on a Florida beach.
