Wright In a FHM Photo Shoot

Once considered one of the sexiest women on the country music charts, Chely Wright surprised many fans with an announcement that she is gay.

Wright, the award-winning singer/songwriter whose biggest hit was “Single White Female,” recently came out as a lesbian in an interview with People Magazine.  She will appear on NBC’s Today Show Wednesday (5/5/10) to discuss more.

For years Wright has doubled as a calendar pin up girl, selling her sexy calendar to benefit her Reading, Writing and Rhythm charity.

She told People Magazine “Nothing in my life has been more magical than the moment I decided to come out.”

Wright also has a new album to release called “Lifted Off The Ground.”
